Haven't gotten any actresses.

I heard some celebs ask trivia questions before they will sign. Have you experienced this and, if so, what happened?

Submitted by: Chris Michaels

Image Description

Not to me personally but I know that Flea asked a guy that I know to name a song from their first album. He didn't know, so he didn't sign.

Why do some celebs refuse to sign autographs with blue markers?

Because they think blue equals eBay!

Do you ever butter up celebs with gifts and compliments?

Submitted by: Chris Michaels

I may say I like a particular album or film that they were in. I've never given a gift. They probably just throw them away anyway!

Have you ever asked a celebrity to sign their full name? What happened?

Submitted by: Chris Michaels

I haven't asked that.

What is the biggest misconceptions when it comes to people that sell autographs?

Submitted by: David Durocher

Good question- I'm not sure how to answer that! I guess that not all sellers are jerks!

What tips would you offer for someone who wants to get started collecting in person autographs?

Submitted by: Chris Michaels

Image Description

For musicians, know when sound checks are. Don't be a fanboy and freak out when you see a celebrity. Be prepared- have Sharpies and something worthwhile to get signed besides a ticket stub or index card. Both are fine for last resorts.

Do you keep any of the autographs you obtain for yourself?

Submitted by: Chris Michaels

Image Description

I keep most of the autographs for myself unless I get multiples.

How do you avoid having a celebrity personalize the autographs?

Submitted by: Chris Michaels

Image Description

If they ask what my name is, I usually say they can just put their name on it. It that doesn't work, I'll just give them my name.

How do you respond when a celebrity assumes you're an eBay dealer?

Submitted by: Chris Michaels

Image Description

I say it's for my personal collection. For the most part, it usually is! I will then tell them they can personalize it if they want to.
