Greetings from Australia. My name is Ian Bell. I started collecting when I was 14 years old. That was in 1976. Within my first couple of years I'd been successful with Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and many others. I guess it got into my blood and I've been at for sliding into 45 years. The city I live in wasn't packed with A-List Hollywood actors but I was mainly interested in musicians and I had pretty great success rate. I've had IP experiences with Bob Marley, Nirvana, Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, George Harrison, Sex Pistols, Ramones, The Clash, Elton John, Springsteen, Clapton, Soundgarden, Queen, Kiss, and hundreds (if not thousands) of others.
This seller guarantees that their autographs will pass any third party authentication test such as AutographCOA (ACOA), BAS, JSA or PSA/DNA, or the customer will receive a 100% refund.
It was a different world back then. Access was a lot easier. There were a lot fewer people doing it (and fewer hotels). There were less aggressive PA's. There was no eBay. Artists were much more likely to sign multiple items and be happy to do it, without being suspicious of your motives. Along the way I have been a DJ, music journalist, rock photographer, archivist, pop culture expert, Record and Memorabilia store owner and authenticator for people's collections and insurance companies.
I have amassed a huge collection of IP signed items and as I have a young family to take care of and while I'm not quite 60 (but I can see it from here). I have decided it's time to have a major cull of my personal collection to make some room and turn them into funds to help raise my daughter.
I've always been a personal collector, so probably 95% of my collection are IP. Along the way though, I have picked up items collected IP from other trusted collectors with whom I had personal relationships, especially when I had my store. I never got autographs specifically to sell, they were for my own collection. I didn't have a problem buying and selling graphs from the other dudes in my town, as I generally knew who was around, who was signing (and how) on any given tour. Any item I was the slightest bit unsure of I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.
None of my items are currently PSA (or similar) authenticated, as I was not collecting to sell and almost everything I have I got IP. I am 100% confident that any item I offer though RACC will pass any outside scrutiny.
My own taste's run the gamut from punk to mainstream, and I have been fortunate acquiring items from almost all my favourite performers. If I have a 'holy grail' it would probably be a cast signed movie one sheet of Phantom of the Paradise (DePalmas first movie).
Thanks to RACC for having me on-board and I look forward to meeting more of you as time goes on.
