All the time. I am not entitled to an autograph. If someone is kind enough to stop and sign, I like showing them my appreciation with a gift and/or compliment of their work.

I have yet to encounter this, but if I ever did, I would politely and briefly explain to them that I am a fan of their work, perhaps citing references to which work has meant the most to me and why. I would also explain that if I ever sold anything, it would be to further my ability to collect signed pieces of history, conveying the fun and passion that goes along with it.




What is the biggest changes in the autograph scene since you first started?

Off the top of my head, some names that come to mind: Lars Ulrich, Roger Waters, Dave Grohl, Andy Serkis, James Taylor, and Rob Halford.




Who was your first autograph?

To my recollection, outside of local athletes, the first in-person autographs that I obtained were Krist Novoselic and Woody Harrelson. They were in town for a spoken word event that day, and as Nirvana was my favorite band growing up, I was more than thrilled.




What was your greatest autograph success?
