RACC Trusted Seller #401
- Rhode Island
I started mainly in music collecting back in 1995 when i first met Dave Grohl outside of a venue in Providence, RI. Having ben heavily involved in music, both listening and performing, I obtained more and more. Most of these pieces now hang in my music themed restaurant.
About 7 years ago, I began collecting movie/TV memorabilia. While my PC is mostly 80's movies, and obscure things I enjoyed as a kid, it expanded into sports for my oldest son, as well as newer movies for my daughter.
In the last 2 years, I have become more involved with buying and selling. I enjoy matching pieces with people who will truly enjoy them. This led to my creation of Matt's Mats. Using my design/marketing background, I wanted to produce something that could help showcase signed items - rather than the run of the mill white mats, and potentially more affordable than custom framing. What started as a simple piece of paper glued to a mat board has evolved into direct, UV cured ink printing with ability to make any size, with any cut. I create each mat to customer specification or let my mind run wild when they ask me to. I try to make everything look like something I would want on my wall.
Recently, I have teamed with 2 friends to create Graph Guys. We are currently working on private as well as consignment signings and focusing on giving top notch customer service and some great products.

At the end of the day, unless witnessed - its till just opinion. But TRAINED opinion.
It adds a layer of security and protection that buyers enjoy. I try to have EVERYTHING certified just to give them piece of mind.

Moreso the opposite....
In my second encounter with Dave Grohl, i had a friend with me for a meet and greet.
We walked up and my friend said...
"Hey Dave, remember that show in XXXXX where some kid told you her knew how to play 'Winnebago' and you let him come up on stage and play it?"
Dave replied " I do"
to which my friend said...
"I know how to play 'Winnebago'"
He had us stand off to the side until the end of the meet and greet. Asked 'do you really know it?' to which my friend nodded. He asked me... "and what do you do?" "I sing" i replied.
Dave smirked and said...
"Not tonight you don't"
He then handed us two side stage passes and said... maybe we will do this.
Watched the whole show from the stage. My friend never did get to go up and play... but it was a pretty sweet experience all based on knowing your stuff.

It's not all about the money.
I enjoy matching people with pieces they will hang, enjoy, and pass on to their family.

Always try to keep 1 or 2. Especially if it's someone I enjoy.
