Alan Howarth is an American composer and sound designer who is best known for his work on film scores, particularly those of John Carpenter. He was born on August 6, 1948, in Greenwich, Connecticut, United States.
Howarth started his career in music in the 1970s, working as a synthesizer player and sound engineer for various rock bands, including Pink Floyd and The Doors. He met John Carpenter in 1976 and began working with him on the film "Halloween" in 1978.
