After his playing career, Maltzberger was a minor league manager in the Milwaukee Braves and White Sox farm systems, and served as the pitching coach for the Minnesota Twins for three seasons.\n', '

He was born in Utopia, Texas and later died in Rialto, California at the age of 62. He was buried at the Hermosa Memorial Cemetery in Colton, California.\n', '
