This Privacy Policy explains how Real Autograph Collectors Club (“RACC,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites and services, including racctrusted.com and the Death Alerts feature. By using the Service you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.

1.Information we collect

• Account information you provide, such as your email address, username, and profile details.
• Death Alerts preferences, including the people and categories you follow and your chosen alert channels (email and/or browser push).
• Search and activity data, including the individual searches you run in our search bar and the listings, sellers, celebrities, and pages you view. We record this activity for signed-in accounts and, for signed-out visitors, associate it with your browser session.
• Technical and usage data, such as your IP address (which we store in hashed form), device and browser information, pages viewed, and interactions with alerts, collected automatically as you use the Service.
• Optional profile & community content you create, such as your hand-drawn Sign Here signature and your up/down votes on the Sign Here board.
• Profile & social content, such as your avatar and banner images, bio and links, collections and photos you upload, and your friend connections, Top Friends, and blocks.
• Direct messages you send through our Messenger feature, including the message text, any images or files you attach, reactions, and delivery/read status.
• Communications you send us, such as support or contact messages.

Some content is public by design: your profile — including your username, avatar and banner, bio, collections, activity, and Top Friends — is displayed publicly to other members and, in parts, to the open internet, and if you opt into the Sign Here board, the signature you draw is displayed publicly alongside your username and its vote ranking. You can add or remove your board signature at any time from your profile settings. For your own protection, do not use a signature you also use on legal, financial, or identity documents.

Direct messages are private between members, but not encrypted. Messages you send through Messenger go to the member(s) in the conversation and are stored on our systems; they are not end-to-end encrypted. We do not sell your messages or routinely monitor private conversations, but we may access, store, scan, or review messages and attachments to operate the feature, keep the community safe, respond to reports, comply with law, and enforce our Terms. Please don’t send anything through Messenger that you need to keep confidential, and remember the recipient can save or forward what you send.

2.How we use information

• To provide and operate the Service, including creating your account and sending the Death Alerts you have subscribed to;
• To personalize alerts to the people and categories you follow;
• To operate optional community features you choose to use, such as publicly displaying your Sign Here signature and its ranking on the board and recording votes;
• To operate the Messenger feature — delivering your messages, attachments, reactions, and read receipts to the member(s) you message — and to keep it safe and free of abuse;
• To personalize your experience — using your searches and the items you view to surface listings, sellers, drops, and recommendations we think you’ll be interested in;
• To present relevant product promotions, including third-party listings served through affiliate partners such as the eBay Partner Network;
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems;
• To measure and improve the Service; and
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3.Emails and notifications

We send account and service messages (such as signup confirmations and security notices) and, where you opt in, email and/or browser push notifications — including Death Alerts for the people and categories you follow, and community or activity notifications from around the Service. Browser or device push requires your permission and can be turned off at any time in your browser or device notification settings. Every alert email includes a way to manage your preferences or unsubscribe, and you can change or turn off alerts at any time from your Death Alerts settings.

4.Cookies, analytics, and personalization

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. We also measure engagement and attention in aggregate (such as the pages and features you use, time on page, and interactions) to operate, secure, and improve the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

We log the searches you make and the items you view and use that history to personalize what you see — for example, a “Picked for you” selection of listings related to what you’ve searched for, some of which are third-party listings shown through affiliate partners such as the eBay Partner Network. This personalization is based on your own activity on RACC; we do not sell it. To limit it, you can browse while signed out, clear your browser session, or contact us as described below.

5.How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service, including with:

• Service providers that operate on our behalf, such as our email delivery provider (for example, Mailgun) and analytics providers;
• Affiliate and merchant partners when you follow links from the Service (see the affiliate disclosure in our Terms; our affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network) — these partners have their own privacy practices;
• Legal and safety recipients when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service; and
• Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

6.Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account, after which we will delete or de-identify your personal information except where retention is required or permitted by law.

7.Your choices

• Manage the people and categories you follow and your email/push settings from your Death Alerts settings;
• Unsubscribe from alert emails at any time using the links they contain;
• Add or remove your Sign Here board signature, and change your board participation, at any time from your profile settings;
• Block another member to stop direct messages between you, and report messages that violate our rules;
• Access, correct, or request deletion of your account information by contacting us.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information; contact us to exercise them.

8.Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9.Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10.Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes may be communicated through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
