After being signed by the Toronto Blue Jays as an amateur free agent in 1989, he went on to play for the Blue Jays (1994, 1996–1997, 1999), Seattle Mariners (1997-1998), Philadelphia Phillies (1999) and Kansas City Royals (2000).
