Carlos Arroyo was born and raised in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. He is an identical twin, born along his brother Alberto. Arroyo is a cousin of the Academy Award winning Puerto Rican actor Benicio del Toro. Arroyo graduated from Colegio Santiago Apostol in Fajardo. Arroyo attended Brookwood School in Thomasville, Georgia for his junior year in high school, where he averaged nearly 30 points and 10 assists per game.\n', '
