Leesman was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 40th round of the 2005 MLB Draft, but did not sign, opting to attend Xavier University, where he played for the Xavier Musketeers baseball team. Leesman was then drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 11th round of the 2008 MLB Draft, and signed. Leesman then started his professional baseball career with the White Sox rookie league Bristol White Sox.\n', '
