As a youth, he played in the 1984 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Oshawa.\n', '
Snell played in the Oshawa Kiwanis Minor Hockey program in the OMHA and was a member of the 1987–88 All-Ontario Midget Championship team.[citation needed]\n', '
