Deen Castronovo was born in the city of Westminster, California and started drumming at the age of 6. He grew up in Keizer, Oregon., where he attended South Salem High School. Deen cites Steve Smith, Neil Peart, Terry Bozzio, Kiss and Rush as influences. Deen met his first wife, Julie, in 2003 and was married in 2004. After they separated, he reconnected with Deidra in 2008, whom he had known since 1982, and became engaged in 2013. He has two children.\n', '
