Estevez was born on Staten Island, the oldest child of artist Janet Sheen and actor Martin Sheen (legally Ramón Estévez). His siblings are Ramon Estevez, Charlie Sheen (birth name Carlos Estévez), and Renée Estevez. Estevez\' paternal grandparents were Irish and Galician (Spanish) immigrants.
