Shortly after rapper Brother Marquis joined and so did Campbell as the hype man. Their Gold debut album, The 2 Live Crew Is What We Are, that came out in July that year. The album established their signature style of comical sexually explicit rap lyrics. Their popularity growth also came with controversy. Their follow up album Move Somethin\' also went gold, until their third release As Nasty As They Wanna Be (1989). The United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida ruled that the album was legally obscene, a lawsuit ensued, the group was eventually acquitted, and the album went platinum. The original line up made two other Gold album Banned in the U.S.A. (1990), and Sports Weekend: As Nasty as They Wanna Be, Pt. 2 (1991). Following this all 2 Live Crew releases, would have one or two member missing but Fresh Kid Ice remained in all of them, until their last official album release in 1998.\n', '
