In 1957, Zuverink and Frank Zupo twice formed the only "Z" battery in major league history as of 2011, the first time coming on July 1, 1957 when Zupo made his big-league debut with a 10th-inning catching appearance against the New York Yankees.\n', '
Zuverink died in Tempe, Arizona from pneumonia as a result from a fractured hip he suffered from a fall in May 2014. He was 90 years old.\n', '
