- Born March 12, 1966
A 6\'9" forward from Eastern Michigan University, Long was selected with the 33rd pick of the 1988 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat. Long played six seasons for the Heat, earning a reputation for his aggressive defense and strong rebounding. After the first two games of the 1994-95 season, Long was traded to the Atlanta Hawks along with Steve Smith for Kevin Willis.
