Joseph Elliott Girardi (born October 14, 1964) is an American former professional baseball catcher and manager. Girardi played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago Cubs, the Colorado Rockies, the New York Yankees and the St. Louis Cardinals. During a 15-year playing career, Girardi won three World Series Championships with the Yankees in the 1990s, and served as the catcher for Dwight Gooden’s no-hitter and David Cone’s perfect game.\n', '

After his playing career ended, Girardi became a manager, and in 2006, he managed the Florida Marlins and was named the National League Manager of the Year, though he was fired after the season.
