Gilchrist discovered his passion for acting at a young age, and his drama teacher persuaded him to become a professional actor. He attended the Annex Children\'s Theatre. Gilchrist\'s first significant television role was that of Josh McKellar on Fox\'s short-lived television sitcom The Winner, which aired in 2007.
