Luciane Buchanan is a New Zealand actress and singer, born on February 9, 1985 in Auckland, New Zealand. She is of Māori and Brazilian descent.

Buchanan began her acting career in 2006 with a small role in the New Zealand television series "Shortland Street". She later appeared in other popular New Zealand shows such as "This Is Not My Life" and "The Blue Rose". In 2012, she played a lead role in the musical "The Factory" at the Auckland Theatre Company.

In 2015, Buchanan moved to Australia to pursue her acting career further. She played the role of Vicky in the Australian television series "Here Come the Habibs!" in 2016, and later that year appeared in the Australian film "Killing Ground".

Buchanan's most notable role to date is that of Sgt. Tiana Nguyen in the Amazon Prime Video series "The Wilds", which premiered in 2020. The show follows a group of teenage girls who are stranded on a deserted island after their plane crashes. Buchanan's character is a soldier who becomes one of the girls' mentors as they navigate their new reality.

In addition to her acting career, Buchanan is also a singer and has released several singles. She is a graduate of the University of Auckland, where she studied theatre and music. Buchanan is an advocate for diversity in the arts and has spoken publicly about her experiences as a Māori-Brazilian actress.
