A 6\'8" (2.03 m) and 250 lb (113 kg) forward born in Chicago, Illinois, Maxey played college basketball for the University of Minnesota and then for the University of Texas at El Paso. He participated in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in 1992, where he was named unanimous tourney MVP.\n', '
