Andriese attended Redlands East Valley High School, where he played for the school\'s baseball team along with Tyler Chatwood. He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 37th round of the 2008 MLB draft, but did not sign with Texas. The San Diego Padres selected Andriese in the third round of the 2011 MLB draft. He signed with the Padres, and pitched for the Lake Elsinore Storm of the Class A-Advanced California League in 2012.
