On May 22, 2008, Noreau was signed as a free agent to a three-year entry level contract with the Minnesota Wild. He spent most of the 2009–10 season with the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. He posted 52 points in 76 games to earn selection in the AHL Second All-Star Team.
