In 2008, Carter-Williams transferred to the boarding school St. Andrew\'s in Barrington, Rhode Island where he lived in a dormitory during his final three years of high school. After his sophomore season in high school, Carter-Williams committed to attend Syracuse where he played on their basketball team.
