Miguel Socolovich signed with the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent in 2004. He did not play in 2005, after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. He did not join the organization until 2006. He spent the rest of the season playing for the Gulf Coast League Red Sox.
