Mike Comrie was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, and attended Jasper Place High School.[citation needed] As a youth, he played in the 1993 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from the Whitemud region of Edmonton, Alberta.
