Hauschild attended Beavercreek High School in Beavercreek, Ohio, and played college baseball at the University of Dayton. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 33rd round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft. He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 2016 Rule 5 draft.
