- Born Aug. 23, 1976
At Lewis-Palmer High School in Monument, Colorado, Garrity was a three time All-State selection and part of the 1994 Class 4A State of Colorado High School Basketball Championship team. He was a three time All-State selection and the Class 4A player of the year for the 1993–94 season as well as valedictorian of his high school class. His jersey, number 53, is retired at Lewis-Palmer High School.\n', '
At the University of Notre Dame, Garrity spent four years with the Fighting Irish, averaging double-digits in scoring in all four seasons, including a 23.2 point-per-game average in his senior season of 1997–98. He was the Big East Men\'s Basketball Player of the Year in 1997. In 1998, he was a Consensus Second Team All-America selection. He was a two-time Academic All-America selection as well as Academic All-American of the Year for Men\'s Division I basketball in 1998.\n', '
Garrity was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 19th pick of the 1998 NBA draft. The Bucks traded his rights, and the rights to Dirk Nowitzki, to the Dallas Mavericks for the rights to Robert Traylor. Then Garrity\'s rights, along with Martin Müürsepp, Bubba Wells and a first-round draft pick, were traded to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Steve Nash.\n', '
