A native of Los Angeles, California, Steiner was one of many players who only appeared in the majors during World War II. He was a .190 hitter (15-for-79) with six runs, one double, and six RBI without home runs in 38 games. In 28 catching appearances he posted a .989 fielding percentage (one error in 91 chances). \n', '
