Shawn Matthias (born February 19, 1988) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who is currently an unrestricted free agent. Matthias has previously played in the NHL with the Winnipeg Jets, Colorado Avalanche, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks and the Florida Panthers, having been originally drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the second round, 47th overall, at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Matthias played his major junior ice hockey career with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) before he was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the second round, 47th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
