He played for his hometown Owen Sound Greys when they won their first Memorial Cup as Canadian junior champions in 1924. Ten years later, he and old Greys teammate Cooney Weiland were reunited on the roster of the Detroit Red Wings, who went to the Stanley Cup final in that 1933–34 season.\n', '
