- Born Oct. 14, 1945
Silvero entered professional baseball in the Angels' system in 1965 and batted over .300 twice in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. However, he scuffled at the plate during his three trials with the Angels, collecting only three hits (all off them singles) in 30 at bats, with two bases on balls and four strikeouts. He appeared in ten games in the outfield, but started only one (on April 19, 1972, against the Minnesota Twins at Anaheim Stadium).
