Victoria Monét McCants (born May 1, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter. Monét became involved in performing arts at a young age and later pursued a career in music. She soon took to songwriting and began working with music producer Rodney Jerkins. Previously signed to Atlantic Records, Monét released a series of EPs throughout the mid-late 2010s. In 2020, she released her fifth EP Jaguar, along with its single "Experience" (with Khalid and SG Lewis), to rave reviews from music critics. Her debut album Jaguar II (2023), included the hit single "On My Mama"; and earned her seven nominations at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, including Record Of The Year (for "On My Mama") and Best New Artist.
Monét is a frequent collaborator of American singer Ariana Grande. Monet has writing credits on every studio album released by Grande, spanning from Yours Truly (2013) to Positions (2020). In 2019, Monét received two Grammy Award nominations for Album of the Year for her work on Grande's Thank U, Next and Record of the Year for "7 Rings". That same year, they released the single "Monopoly" which became a top 40 hit in the United Kingdom.
She has also written songs for a number of artists including Nas, Travis Scott, Blackpink, Fifth Harmony, T.I., GOOD Music, Lupe Fiasco, Chrisette Michele, Coco Jones, Chloe x Halle and Chris Brown.
