- Born July 11, 1911
He began his professional baseball career with the Chambersburg Young Yanks of the Blue Ridge League in 1930. He made his major league debut with the New York Yankees late in the 1934 season. During his last playing season in 1951, he was also the manager of the Hopkinsville Hoppers of the Kentucky–Illinois–Tennessee League. The Hoppers qualified for postseason play in 1951, but lost in the first round.\n', '
