This boxset includes: Autographed boxset Personalized note from Paula Cole 7 LPs 180 gram vinyl 20 page booklet of personal autobiography and liner notes "Demos were a necessity in the 90’s. It was a kind-of holy-grail-quest for an artist to be signed to a major label if you had a hope of reaching a wider audience. Getting signed – it was like climbing Mount Everest. Arduous, a little demoralizing, rare. For the label to comprehend the vision of the artist, the artist had to make demos. This was a skilled and costly endeavor in the 80’s and 90’s – you had to scavenge tape or studio time at cost or essentially, learn to self-produce. And so, I did. I scrimped and saved my dollars and bought second-hand gear. Mark and I set up my Vision software and a Tascam 8 track TSR-8 in the bedroom. I honed my process as a nascent producer, thanks in great part to the talented and giving individuals who walked the path with me, taught me, supported me. And incredibly, these early incarnations of my songs, shitty digital piano and all, still exist - even after my nomadic life and cross-continental moves. They are my masters. They don’t belong to the corrupt label to which I signed (the supposed holy-grail-turned fetid, pushing sharecropper-contracts.)
