Sonders is a native from Ohio, She was an especially accomplished junior golfer, winning the American Junior Golf Association and UCT National championship tournaments in 2001. She was offered a scholarship to join the Michigan State University’s women’s golf team where she played all four years on the team which included earning Academic All-Big Ten honors following her sophomore and junior seasons, while also helping lead the team to a Big Ten Conference championship in 2007. A veteran of 93 rounds during her collegiate career, she started in the NCAA Regional tournament three times and competed in the NCAA Championship tournament twice. Also, she participated in the United States Women’s Amateur Championship in 2006. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2009 with a degree in journalism.\n', 'Sonders started her broadcasting career at WBNS-10TV in Columbus, she quickly moved to the Big Ten Network, where served as a sideline reporter for the channel’s soccer coverage. The following year, she joined KATV in Little Rock, Ark., where she served as a field reporter and gained valuable experience on the station’s live news broadcasts. In 2011, she joined Golf Channel to be a co-host of their morning talk show Morning Drive. She quickly became one of Golf Channel’s most popular personalities. She also hosted “School of Golf” and “Playing Lesson with the Pros,” for the Golf Channel. In 2014, she joined FOX Sports as a reporter and remote studio host for USGA events, as well as a reporter for a package of NFL games. In the 2015 U.S. Open (golf), she was widely criticized for asking champ Jordan Spieth if he brought an extra outfit in case for the playoff Monday. This lead Fox Sports 1 to reassign Sonders and later remove her from Golf coverage altogether in 2018.
