The first Black married stars of a musical variety television program, The Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. Show, in 1977, the icons are now recognized as the First Couple of Pop & Soul, with more hours and years of broadcast television than any other married African-American duo. The couple starred in a series of successful musical productions including the Duke Ellington tribute, Hit Me With A Hot Notes, and It Takes Two, a musical variety tribute to legendary soul duos of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s.
