Smudged? Personalized to Zeke? No problem...maybe.

We've all most likely dealt with either a smudged autograph or an unwanted personalization. 

The way of fixing this problem is quite simple.  Depending on the type of paper used. 

GLOSSY: GOOD TO GO

MATTE: GOOD TO GO, BUT YOU'LL NEED EXTRA ELBOW GREASE. 

CARDSTOCK: NOT A CHANCE. 

BLANKS/WHITE SHEETS: NOT A CHANCE

First you need to determine which type of paper you have. 

Let's use glossy as our talking point. 
There are many ways to do this, but this however is the easiest way for me personally. 

What you'll need:

1. Dry Erase Marker (I use black)
2. Napkin,paper towel or toilet paper. 
3. Qtip 
4. Patience and a steady hand. 

5. Depending on how close you need to get to the graph, PrismaColor Blender Pen. (Color: Clear) 

First start by doing a test on an insignificant part of what you want to remove. 

Make a small stroke with the dry erase marker. Use the qtip to gently wipe AWAY from what you want to keep. If you're doing it properly it will start coming off immediately. 
If you are using a blender pen, use the smaller tip to do the same thing as above. However, with a blender you need to clean the tip after every stroke. For this I use a piece of cardboard. Keep "writing" on the cardboard until the tip is completely clean, then go back in. 

Just rinse and repeat using the napkin (etc) until you have the result desired! It's actually deceptively simple! Feel free to contact me directly with questions or advice! 

Below is a before and after shot from what I've done personally on a Mark Hamill. 

I picked up this Mark Hamill for $25 because it was smudged and inscribed to Stephan. You be the judge at the final result, if I made a good $25 investment.
